Charity fundraising

From bake sales and craft evenings to climbing hills and running marathons, our teams always try to get involved in raising funds and awareness for charities – particularly those that aim to help individuals and families affected by brain and spinal injuries. Here are some of the charities we have helped:

Aspire - supporting people with spinal cord injuries

Brainbox - offering 24/7 support to families who have a young person with an acquired brain injury

Brain Injury is BIG - empowering the severely brain injured and their families via support, understanding and a network of care

BRAKE - promoting road safety awareness, safe and sustainable road use, and effective road safety policies

The Care Workers Charity - supporting the basic welfare of current, former and retired care workers

Cash for Kids - responding to the needs of children in our communities so they can live life to the full and realise their individual potential

The Child Brain Injury Trust - supporting children, young people and families affected by childhood acquired brain injury

Head Forward - aiming to address the problem of social isolation after TBI by offering activities which encourage social rehabilitation

Headway - working to improve life after brain injury

The Legacy Rainbow House - working with children with acquired brain injury, multiple disabilities and complex health needs

Macmillan Cancer Support - working to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer

Make-A-Wish Foundation - granting magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions

Motor Neurone Disease Association - focusing on Motor Neurone Disease care, research and campaigning

Neurocare - raising money to buy life saving equipment for use in the Neuro theatres of Sheffield's Royal Hallamshire Hospital

North East Hearts with Goals - places lifesaving defibrillators into public places such as schools, colleges and sports clubs

Philippines Typhoon Appeal - raised funds to help people affected by Typhoon Haiyan (November 2013) to recover and rebuild their lives (appeal now closed)

Refugee Council - works with refugees and people seeking asylum in the UK, offering a helping hand to support and empower them to rebuild their lives

Save the Children - working in 120 countries to save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential

Scope - aiming to make this country a place where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else

Sheffield Children’s Hospital, S2 Neurosciences Ward - dedicated neurosciences ward treating patients who have neurological conditions, require neurosurgery or have conditions affecting the brain and nervous system

Spinal Injuries Association - supporting people affected by spinal cord injury by advising, educating and campaigning on their behalf

Work Ltd –creating opportunities for people with learning disabilities to develop life skills and to build confidence and self esteem
